the Reggae Movement Exhibition

Roots&Future Sound System presents vernissage of inernational exhibiton The Reggae Movement Sound System: From Jamaica to Europe 1950-1995. On Friday 11th May 2012, Galerie Náplavka starting at 17:00. Supporting programme, lectures and talks, cinema and discussion begininng at 20:00. Talks and lectures are going to be about the history and evolution of the sound system phenomena, djs & mcs, dubplate culture, musical development and influence of “Bass Culture” from Jamica to Europe since 1950s until the present day. Solar power soundsystems, african music scene and social programmes. Lecturers are Ronan Lynch (Irieland Music, One Drop IR/D), musician, journalist a editor in chief of IrieUp magazine, producer and dj Damalistik (Roots Survival /FR) and others.

Follow-on thematic afterparty in the „37th Chamber“ is also a warm-up for the Sound system only Survival Meeting held on 1st-3rd June by the dam Orlík. Music will be provided by Jah Seal (Irieland Music IR/D), Roots Survival (FR), United Forces of Dub and Roots&Future DJs. Veggie cousine and outdoor bar by Hustánek from the HUS23 crew.
